ok so i take my car to some place and the update is they dont want to work on it because they think i need a whole new engine(honestly im not to far off in that opinion and never was) anyways ive searched the forum and didnt find to much helpful information, which years and which cars did this 2.4l come from and do i need the transmission with it or will it bolt up to mine?just wondering what exactly will i need?

im pretty sure your talking about the 4g64 n/t engine fromt he spyders. i can help but think its going to be just as hard as swapping in a 4g63t. i know there simular in that they use alot of the same stuff. you might be better off doing a 420a swap. maybe find a 420a and do some internal buildup while you have it sitting there.

Helliviknow is right . Hes talking about the 2.4L non turbo spyder engine. And your right about one other thing, it would be as hard as trying to put a 4g63T engine in the car. They are almost exactly the same. Thats why its fairly easy to turbo a non turbo spyder. Most parts swap with no modification.

Just buy a built 420a or build one up yourself. Its alot cheaper.

Ok if your talking about the 2.4 sebring engine then the same still goes. It would still be wayyyy too much work. The Sebring 2.4 is the the same 2.4 that the 99-03 Galants have and the same 2.4 that the 2000+ Eclipses have. The sebring 2.4 is just like the Spyder 2nd gens have. Except for the Different intake Manifold. And some other very minor differences.

So back to what was previously stated it would be just like trying to but a 4G63 engine in your car(Turbo or not) The 2 are almost the same engines.
