It's nice to see pictures like that, since the only thing that makes it back here is the bad news and pictures.

I could find pictures of proopagand posters from the second World War that worked along the same theme.Or hundreds of hours of relentlessly cheerful newsreel footage of the happy smiling Tommies and their patient and cheerful families winning the war by smiling as they duck into their air raid shelters...

No doubt there is relief amongst the misery of war.No doubt people do have the odd good day.If you want a good read about people making the best of wartime conditions, I'd reccommend Spike Milligan's war diaries.

However, as I post this, there are fierce and bloody battles going on, and there are less fortunate people trapped in the middle who will die.No amount of happy pictures will change that.

Yes, we are constantly reminded by the media of what horrors war can bring. It helps to see the smiles of the liberated and when I look at the kids I can only hope that they have a brighter future and that our children will have a stronger connection with them that the generations before them didn't.

That pics doesn't mean shit. As long as they wear the american uniform...they're the enemies. I dont care how "nice" they are. I know theres alot of good american soldiers but this is war. The Iraqis will do whatever it takes to get the americans out.

Oh and that sign says "thank you Bush." Please...Iraqis doesn't know what they want. They cheered for americans when they first came in and now they want Saddam back. Of course you're not goin to hear it from you're beloved american media

Of course you're not goin to hear it from you're beloved american media  Considering that the majority of major media outlets in the US are anti Iraq war, can you really back up that claim. Most of the surveys and polls done which showed that Iraqis were happy and better off with the presence of the coalition were done by foreign news agencies.

Ok to the last 2 posters who are quoting me. The media twist the story up or they dont give you "full coverage!" I dont listen to any of the media. I have customers that just came from Iraq and i still have LOTS families over in Iraq. The customers come here and they watch the news. They told me that they're suprised that the media doesn't tell you much. I just had 5 different assyrian customers, non of them know each other. They all told me that atleast 70% of Iraqis want Saddam back. You think the American media is goin to tell you that? Back up my claim? My family and friends and my people are my "back up claim." Just so you guys know...UDAY is the one whos causing all the trouble, NOT SADDAM. America gave Saddam the bad image. They're just mad at him cause he stopped listening to him. Sure hes not an angel but thats the main truth. They want someone in his place so that they can "obey" the american gov't.

Ok is that your proof? That doesn't mean anything. BBC is the same shit as CNN and FOX.

Geez yall, just chill out. Of course a few nice pictures aren't going to make anyone forget or take away from the horrors going on in Iraq. I just wanted everyone to see this b/c i think it's always nice to see something positive out of something so negative.

Just curious which parts of Iraq are your family deployed in or were the people coming into your store in mellowboy? Because if it is anywhere near heavy combat areas then its no wonder they think that 70% of Iraqis are against us. Most of Iraq is secure, and the areas that are are glad that the US came. Its only in areas where foreign insurgents have taken over that the people are majorly against us

Some in Samarra and Baghdad and Al Qosh. I reside here in America. I install international satelites for business. I get ppl from all over the middle east and asia. But anyways you are PARTIALLY right about the foreign insurgents but what they're doin in Falluja is wrong. I said it before and i'm goin to say it again...Abu Zarqawi doesn't even exist or not even in Iraq! Thats my opinion. Just another america's bogey man. I bet you anything that when they enter falluja and not find Zarqawi....u know what they're goin to say? " oh he must've flee away".

Thats definitely not true. Sit back and watch what they're goin to do in Falluja. Its goin to anger many Iraqis and they're goin to take action. What you just said maybe true during the first month or 2 of the war but then they still recieve nothing but a dead member of there family.

alrite, i personally do not think we should be in iraq. i also do not like bush, but the fact is is the soldiers are not bush. most of the soldiers went in with their heart out on the sleeves. they werent there just to say "Wheres the Baby's room, BLAST EM". this is why it is nice to see these ppics surfacing

Jeeze you guys, leave the bickering alone for at least one thread. The pictures are just there to show that the soldiers aren't the bad guys. It's the jackass in charge that is.
