Heating problem

Ok, vehicle gauges say that all sytems, temp ok. Cannot seem to stop hot air from coming into the vehicle regardless of what temp I set the control on. Using the AC only helps a bit, and it doesn't seem to be affected by changing the TEmp setting control. In cooler weather, there does not seem to be enough heat. 2000 SLT model. I there still a Temperature control valve that regulates the flow of hot water into the heater coil? I suspect that it is malfuntionong or not getting a proper signal form the Control panel. I also suspect that is in a partially opened state, which explains why I cant get cool air out when I want it. Is the system pneumattically or electronically controlled? I looked under the hood briefly and could not locate a hose going into the firewall, but I really didn't look thoroughly. Any suggestions?

Blending door and the temperature control could be both faulty.

Ok, I'm with you on this one. I read some where on this sight that access to the blending door was behind the glove box, correct? Also, is the control electrical or vacuum controlled?
