i think it might have something to do with your throttle body when idling

I think I was able to decipher your gibberish enough to be able to tell you that there is nothing wrong with your car. It's an automatic, which means that, of course the idle while it's in gear, under a slight load, will be a little bit lower than when it's in park and allowed to idle freely.

If anything, the extent to what I wouldn't even consider a minor inconvenience, let alone a problem, will be just lowering your idle by maybe 1/4 to 1/2 a turn to the right (clockwise) on your idle adjustment screw. This will lower both your "In gear" idle and your "free" idle by a couple hundred rpms.

Your idle adjustment screw can be located on your throttle body, above the butterfly valve / air intake, it's a small round screw about 1/4 of an inch in diameter and you'll need a medium flathead screwdriver to adjust it. I believe it's hidden directly beneath a couple of small rubber hoses coming out of the top of the throttle body.

I think his ride is Carberated. 89 prelude Carb. Could be vacume. Older carberated hondas have so many vacume hoses. Is there a Vacume advance on the Distributor anyone? I would check Vacume pressure from that first.
