Blower motor resistor....

On the way to work this morning and found none of the fan speeds work. I have dual climate control and neither side work. I do have a small amount of air come out. I did noticed last week that when i had the air off i heard 'air leaking' within the dash. But as soon as i turned the air back on the sound went away. Kinda like tire leaking from a tire. I do hear clikcing sound when switching from the different modes of defroster, tops vents, floor vents etc. I also check the fuses but when i looked at the fuse map i am missing the 2 circled fuses which are the HVAC. That seems odd. So does it come down to the blower motor resistor? http://www.clubgp.com/newforum/upfiles/22794/Fd92640.jpg

Check the fuses to make sure they are good. As far as the hissing sound you could have a vacuum leak that is causing it since most of the controls to activate the head and ac vents are vacuum controlled. If the fuses are ok then change the blower motor resistor and it should solve the fan problem. Also, check the fan motor to make sure the motor is still good. I doubt it went before the resistor but it could happen. Since you will need to remove the fan to get to the resistor then it is a good time to make sure that it works before putting it back together.

whats the part number for the resistor? I have the dual climate zone. The only number i can find is 89018501

does the highest speed work?

(i.e., only off and high?)

here is a pic which i think is the resistor (purple wire). I took out the blower motor. But i think the resistor is different than the GM dealer gave me.

i got the dual climate out and the blower motor. I added a little dc voltage to the motor and it spins. When i took the dual climate resistor and pluged in the main connector, i used my multitester to test the purple/black wires and get 12.5v on all fan speeds. any ideas?
