For most people with Grand Prixs? So you don't look like that old lady in the Ford going down the street. A lot of guys think it saves the bulbs.
I don't touch mine. If one person who might pull out in front of me. Or the guy in a hurry, who has to pass the car in front of him. Can see me, the second before they do that, I leave them on.

It does save the life of the bulb's and it really helps when you add a Heavy duty headlight harness to increase voltage.I added one from www.suvlights.com and at the same time installed some Silverstar headlights and burned one up in less then 2 months because of the increased voltage. So needless to say,I disabled the DRL's when I replaced them with another pair of SilverStars.

I have a different question on drl - my fog lights come on and stay on with the drl, but work normally if just using the light switch. Any thoughts on why? How do I disable the drl? Thanks

Hi Big-L,
Sure I try to keep the guy alive. And you want to have people run into him. You know, I have been thrown off this site once today. Now your trying to hurt my feelings.
Did you play good with the other kids lastnight?

It's a way of saying how did the new job go lastnight? (Did you play well with...)
Forget it.

I've disconnected my drl's. I don't like driving around with lights on all the time. When I drive on a two-lane highway (where I think drl's are most effective) I just turn on my headlights.

I don't buy the idea that my drl's will make my car more visible in-town. If they can't see my four-door land yacht, I don't think the lights will help. :icon16:

Wait a min. I live in Florida. They couldn't see a pink semi, with flashing lights.

There is a heat sink through the panel right to the left side of the steering wheel in the dash, disconnect the wire and your done. The lights will still come on when it is dark but will not run during the day.

Yea, me too. In fact, I'll turn on the lights on the Porsche for that reason. It's not so much my driving, but I've come to the conclusion that I'm sharing the road with a mostly bunch of distracted idiots (present company excluded) and I don't want to take the chance.

Its well worth the money, since it adds 1.5 volts to the bulbs. We can use all the power we can get for our crappy headlights.

Where did you say you got those?

Also, are there smoke covers for the GP's?
