Ok im looking at wut i think is a 67 camaro rs. It is in very rough shape but i have been pricing stuff and i think it would b a fun project to try to bring her back to life over the next few years as my big project. Anyway on to my question... I found a number on where the door would shut up against and thought it to b the vin number but when i tried a search through the dmv its like 4 numbers short. Mybe cuz it old i have no idea but if anyone can help it would b appreciated. Here is the number i got of that plate- CHEVROLET 00 123377N102557. That is how it appeared on tag with the chevy 00 on top of the 123...number. Thnx if anyone can help. :confused:

the vin number should be on a tag somewhere under the hood i think or on the drivers side dash under the window near the cowl of the hood.

vin numbers are 17 digits i think

older cars VIN numbers are shorter. I ran into this problem with my brothers 1973 bronco. so the shorter numer is probly the VIN.

your VIN, 123377N102557, breaks down like this...

1= Chevrolet
2= Camaro
3= I6 engine
37= coupe body
7= 1967 model year
N= norwood, Ohio assembly plant
102557= 2,557th camaro off the line.

To find out if its an RS find the spid label, its a rectangular peice of metal under the hood somewhere, covered with 3 digit codes, If you find Z22, its an RS. I have the entire RPO decoder list, so if you find it, go ahead and post all of them, and ill try and decode it for ya.
