Header Wrap

What are everyones thoughts on exaughst/header wrap? Ive heard some bad things like the header cracking or even blowing, but Ive also heard of people using then for years and never having a single problem. I want a cheap way to lower the heat under the hood and thought this might be a good way to go, but IDK. I also thought about having my headers ceramic coated but that costs an arm and a leg. Thanks for your help.
