I was just wondering how many people own Ipods. Personally I think they suck I have a phillips and it holds even morethen a normal Ipod. Why does everyone like them? They are over priced and very fragile? Id say about 65% - 70% of my school has them. I also think the Ipod is ugly and I hate apple. Not to mentions the Ipods dirty little secret as posted a month ago or so.
Ok vote on the other ones which do you prefer?

I've got an IPod so I voted for that but that Phillips looks really nice. Btw, what dirty little secret of Apples are we talking about? I didn't hear about that.

I picked the Phillips, thought I don't use any of those listed. I use my laptop. I have a 40 gig 5400rpm hdd, but anyways, I think that Ipods are way too popular. that's why I would never get one.

After 180 or so charges the Ipods battery burns out.

Meh, by then it'll probably be outdated so... yeah. Plus I didn't pay for it so I don't care that much lol.

I have an Ipod and I really like it. I just dropped it about 20 mins ago when I was mowing leaves and ran it over with the back tire of my tractor and nothing happend to it so I dunno what you mean about it being fragile. I was really pissed when I found out about the dirty little secret, but my family has almost always had Apple stuff and always had very good luck with customer support. However I do really like the looks of that Phillips you got there.

My cousin's got the phillips, and he loves it.
I'd get one, but my car has a CD player, no cassette, and the FM adapters don't deliver CD quality. So I'll do without for a while.
Only downfall of the phillips is the software doesn't work on computers with Intel's Hyperthreading.

I have a 20GB iPod, with the touch buttons. It works great, but the battery is starting to go for me. i bought it around february.

The 15 GB Dell Jukebox holds more than a 20 GB iPod. But the iPods are more preffered, for their simplicity, and their function. They just are known to function better than the other ones out on the market. The iPod I think was the first small-sized mass storage unit ever sold, or in other words it can hold large amounts of data. Also, iPods are very easy to work with. They are also preferred for their styling, and their appearance, and don't have that many buttons to fumble over. I'm not so sure that theyre fragile.

I have a 10 GB iPod, it's a joke. It's like a lottery as to what will go wrong with it this week. I've already had one replaced under warranty.
However, they are certainly robust.

When the battery dies, it costs like $200 for a new one.. And no, it doesn't take AA's or whatever.

jeez $200 for a new one, that's insane. I like it's simple slim design. Don't need all this design on a damn mp3 player

$200??? - try $99 - that's for the official Apple replacement. The dirty little secret was an anti-apple campaign from start to finish.

Aftermarket replacements can be done for $30..

My 40Gb Ipod is great - dropped and thrown about numerous times... charged almost every day for a year - no problems.
I've had the Archos, Rio etc and they are all toys compared with the Ipod.
Ipod designers actually cared about the sound quality too - that alone sets it apart from the crowd.
