My Vtech is burning oil OUT OF CONTROL!

I know Vtech burns oil, but my prelude is burning it like CRAZY. I had a 94 civic ex and a 99 civic si and neither of them even came close to burning as much as my prelude? Is this serious problem or should I just keep adding oil??

How much oil are you losing, and how often are you in vtec.

How much is it burning? You're right in saying that it burns oil by design, but it's a tradeoff for the added performance, you just have to be careful not to let it get too low and sieze.
Unfortunatley, I've got a '91 with the infamous b21a1.. it drinks about a quart every 1000 miles or so.

well i just got the car in early september I was stupid and bought it from a dealer only to find out about 3 weeks later the car was extremely low on oil- about five quarts low. So i took it back to the dealer and they changed the oil about a week ago and today when i checked the oil it was about 3/4 qt. low- I do a lot of highway driving between work and school and I dont typically drive it very hard (except when some punk pulls up in his mazda with a coffee can tip and revs on me :)

Check your exhaust - after it's warmed up see if there's white smoke coming from your exhaust. That usually means your burning oil. 3/4 qt. in one week is a lot of oil - if it's being burned you'll see it in the exhaust and smell it. Burning oil means bad internals, rings or valve seals or something like that.
If it's not being burned then you're leaking oil - check your driveway or where ever you park your car - is there an oil puddle? Check under the hood, around the valve cover, maybe the oil filter's not tight. Bad valve cover gasket or bad oil pan gasket. Leaking oil is cheaper to fix than burning oil.
