I was looking at superchargers and shit and there pretty expensive. I was able to peice together a turbo kit for a 240sx for 800$. Now i've been told you "cant" single turbo charge a mustang, you have to twin turbocharge it. That dosent make sense to me. Im thinking of running about 6psi, probaly 8-9 or so after intercooler and bigger injectors/ maf sensor.

Is this cost effective, or is supercharging the better route to take.

If its a must to twin turbo, def not feasable for me because of the price.

Yes you can single turbo a Mustang. I don't know what your thinking but it is cheaper to buy a used S/C kit for a 5.0 than even doing a JYTT.

If you have expirence in turbo's where as you can fabricate everything hot and cold side tubing them I would say go turbo you can get it to cost near what a used JYTT set-up will cost.

The problem you'll have with a JYT(single) is that there are not very many donor vehicles with a turbo large enough for the 5.0 to make it worth the effort. The main basis for a 5.0 JYTT is 2 T3's or to a lesser extent 2 16g's etc.., Using a single T3 or single 16g is not going pump anywhere enough air for a 5.0 motor to make it worth the time and effort. So your gonna spend a good amount of money on the turbo for a single set-up making the single a less cost worthy solution on a 5.0.

I called up precision turbo and engine and talked them awhile back about a similar setup. They recommend a TE-44 turbo for thissetup
check out there website. I think a TE-44 will run you about 650 or something likethat

i have been searching for a little bit and there are turbo manifolds for sale. I wouldnt mind paying for a brandy new turbo like a T04 or something. So finding one from another car wont need to be done. An intercooler can be sourced from an izusu truck like i did on my 240.

Piping, meinike said they could do, although i am now enemys with them, im sure there are more places.

I dont think i'll need any feul mods for 6psi(?). But 8-9 i'll upgrade.

I want to get the loudest BOV possible. Thats just something rare, hear the roar of a V8 and the wine of a turbo and woosh of a bov.

If you really want to piece things together go to http://www.turbomustangs.com to get information on what are good things to use and good set-ups when it comes to 5.0's.
