Today we retrieved the codes from my 92 grand am 3.3 Automatic and it gave me these 5 codes.. 3 of them I already knew why they'd pop up.. But the other 2 not sure.... The codes I received were..............
~22~Throttle Postion Sensor and/or possible Enigine Control Computer
~26,27,28~all related to unhooking the transaxel thing becuz the car kept locking up... Was already done when we bought the car.. Never had any trouble with that and had the car for quite some time...
~39~ Now this is the one that gets me, when I looked this code up it says Transaxel Clutch Switch(Manual Transmission).. I have a automatic am I missing something here.. I went back and read them again like 4 times to make sure I was getting that right... Could someone please tell me anything about this code and what it means??? I have never had that one come up before.. My car messed up last week and we still haven't been able to figure out what is going on with it.. For further info on that look for my earlier post about the issues at hand...
Thanks:-)

The first thing you need to do is check the connections to the ECM. It sounds like you need to remove the connectors, clean them and replace the connectors at the ECM. The throttle position sensor could be out of adjustment or need to be replaced. First thing to do is to remove the connector and make sure it is clean, replace it and try to clear the code. If that doesn't work then you may need to replace it. The only other possibility I can think of is that the ECM may be going bad for it to give you that many codes all at once especially if it is giving you false codes. Try cleaning everything and replacing the connectors before you go any further and see if that corrects the problem. Let us know how that turns out!

try going to www.troublecodes.net for further explanation on the codes. As for what you have described, you need to have the Torque Converter Clutch(TCC) solenoid replaced. They are not that expensive from the dealer $40 but you would have to drain the transmission, and be able to access the side pan on the drivers side of the car because the solenoid is located there. If someone else does it, your looking at about $250 to put it in for you. By unplugging it, you may be triggering a code elsewhere because the computer uses the throttle postition sensor signal to decide whether to lock up the converter or not. Other than that you really need to make sure that all of your engine grounds are secure and that you do not have any dangling or frayed wires. Hope this at least points you in the right direction. -Chris
