Some very boring problems (1996)

Hi.
My Suburban 1996 LT 6.5 TD has some boring problems :
1. The wipers doen't work when It's raining (What else should I use them for?). When the weather is fine then the wipers are working. - Can this be a electric problem ? - Some corrosion maybe ?
2. The A/C doesn't work anymore. The A/C switchlight is comming on, but the clutch is not activated. - There is no power to the A/C clutch, and it will therefore not activate. (Do we have to move som of the A/C parts when changing the Fule Pump ? - See the last section)
3. The brakes are acting very strange. When the car has not been used for a couple of days, the brakes doesn't work very good in speeds below 15 km/h (It seems like maybe the ABS is striking in). But after I've used the brakes in higher speeds a coupe of time the brakes are ok again. This has made me feel very uncomfortable a couple of times .... (I'm using the parking brake on and off once a while to tighten up the brakes, but because of the cold and moist weather in Norway the brakes are freezing if the parking brake is on during the nights)
4. The brakes are acting very strange (2). The brakes are sometimes going on at 100% when I'm in low speeds (Even if I only slightly press the brake pedal). This usualy happends if the car has been parked for a couple of hours and is only happening when it's cloudy weather. - Could there be some coating on the brakes from the misty weather ?
5. Door power unlocking. When I'm trying to unlock the doors with the remote (or the unlock door button), only the driver door is unlocked. I can hear that the other actuators are trying to unlock, but they don't succeed. If I'm only unlocking the rear door, then I'ts ok. All locking is ok. Once a while (If there has been no mist for a couple of days) the unlokcing is ok on all doors, but this does not happend very often....
All of these problems has occured after the car was on repair (The fuel pump broke) in a local Chevrolet repair shop on the other side of the country (In Norway). I don't want thoose guys to touch my car again since there where more troubled with the car after I got it from the repair shop than it was before they got it (The list above is only a small list of all the problems I've got with the car) - And they used 6 (SIX) months to change the fuel pump !!!!! :nono: (Not talking about the extream high price on the invoice that they would have me to pay .... - Approx $8600 when we agreed on 2300$ when they got the car (I have of cource only payed 2300$ which we agreed on). Isn't there a guarantee on the fuel pump for 10 years or 190000km ? - My has "only" 187000km on the road ... )
Any help on any of the items above is very appreciated.

1 - Could be your wiper circuit board. Common problem on these trucks. Bad connection on board itself.
2 - If Injector Pump was changed, then yes, some A/C parts were moved.
3 - Rear brakes don't adjust themselves too good. Should manually adjust every now & then.
4 - What type of pad/shoe are you using?
5 - If I remember correctly, the first hit on the remote unlocks the driver's door only. A second hit will open all others.
6 - GM has extended warranty on Injector Pump to 11 years/120,000 miles.

Hi Pamstad, and thank you for your answer. :iceslolan
1. Could someone please state where the wiper circuit board is placed ?
2. I suspect that the repair shop ( :chair: ) maybe have leaked some of the freon in the A/C. I will check this then.
3. I will open the rear brakedrums, and check the adjustment mechanism.
4. I'll have to check the Pad/Shoe type.
5. This is correct. When I press the button the second time I can hear that the actuators is actived, but they don't seem to have enough power to open the locks. I first thought that the voltage could be to low from the batteries, but this is not the case (The voltage is 12,4V, and 13,9V when the engine is running)
6. Thank you. I was told the pump was changed in 1997 (The car was then one year old). Will the waranty cover the new pump as well, or has the new pump only one year warranty ?

most wiper boards are built into your wiper motor if you have delay wipers. It can be removed and bought seperately from your dealer.
Not sure of the price but it is cheaper then buying the whole motor.

The wiper board is on the upper (center) part of the firewall. You will see the wiper box and it is inside that box. The board is removable and I replaced mine and the wipers work well now. I hade the same problem, when raining outside they would not work, but if hot and not damp they worked fine. You might take the board out and try to clean it and reseat it back in. Try using the search forum on this site, you will find a lot of answer to your problem and a lot of problem you don’t have yet. For parts try eBay or www.gmpartsdirect.com. Dave

Your Injector Pump warranty will expire in 2007 or when the odometer reaches 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Just found the post and copied them for your reading. You might try it.
Post one
Just take the time to resolder it better, it seems the factory cold soldered them and thus they develop hairline cracks, The board is not damaged just needs a better solder.
Post two
Thanks for your advice, last night I removed the wiper delay board and repaired it. I re-soldered 4 or 5 of the connection spots and cleaned off the contactor tips that touch the rotating gear inside the box. It all works fine now!

Hi folks.
Regarding the wiper problems :
Opened the wipercase with the circuitboard inside (In the center of the hood just below the window), and cleaned the parts inside. There was a lot of grease stuck on the connectors inside. All of the soldering was ok in my microscope, and I put he parts together again. This was two weeks ago, and there has been raining cats and dog since (And the wipers are ok !)
Thank you wery much for the help !
