in Sport Compact Car's Project STi, they are getting 340 horsepower, with all basic bolt on's, and that number (340 at the wheels) was AFTER a turbo upgrade and was running 19psi. is it just me or does that seem a bit wierd? I thought STi's came stock with 300 horses under the hood, and even with a turbo upgrade, that number seems a bit low even for the turbo they are using.

If they've only upgraded the turbo, and done nothing to the intake or exhaust, then the number isn't surprising.
The STI does come with 300HP under the hood, but that 300HP is at the flywheel, not at the wheels, the figure at the wheels will be lower since there are losses in the drivetrain due to friction and other factors.
You would probably find the car is getting around 360HP at the flywheel.

well yea i was assuming that it was at the crank (thats just how everyone markets in the US....want to make you think your getting more power than you are really getting). but they didnt just upgrade the turbo...it was with pretty much all basic bolt ons (intake, exhaust, and i think cam gears). but it still seems that even with all that, they shouldnt need 19 psi to hit that. although...i think they upgraded to the same size turbo.....just a more free flowing one than factory. it was an HKS RS. i dont know what type of turbo the HKS RS is (t3/t4?).....so maybe thats a practical number if its a smaller turbo than like a GT28.
