Hey folks,
Ok, so I had this huge brain fart. Pulled the ground cable off my battery before I removed the instrument cluster and replaced the valve cover gasket. Everything is back in and I want to start the car up.
Guess what?
I closed the trunk!!!!! Cant get to the battery! It never occured to me that the trunk latch is ELECTRONICALLY TRIGGERED ONLY. So now, the battery is sitting nice and safe in the trunk without a ground cable on it, and I cant get into the trunk.
Any ideas how to defeat this?
BTW, I tried turning the key all the way to the right to manually unlatch it, doesnt work. Clicks, but doesnt seem to want to activate anything. Is there a way to power up the car long enough to let me open the trunk? Anyone know any way to splice in another battery so I can do this? Not sure I want to cut the battery cables under the seat, but if thats all I can do, thats all I can do I guess.

I did. It's actually solid behind the seat and the padding there. That was the first thing I looked at.

Under the hood connect a jumper battery to the starter and the body ground.

NBD,
To the starter, ok. I connected one to the positive jump terminal and the body but that didnt work. I'll try this instead.

Ok, that worked. Had to crawl under the car to reach the starter positive lead, but it worked like a charm. Thanks for the tip!
