Cats

my friend has a 1976 Camaro Z28 and wants to get it safteyed, which means that he has to meet emissions for the year that the car was made, does anyone know if this car had cats? I know there was usually a note on the sun visior, but his visiors weren't in the best condition so thats curently not there lol, so any help is appricated, thanks

I do believe that cats were first put on cars in 1974 (My 73 Nova does not have cats, my 74 firebird does, wild guess)
