hey guys, i got a question bout engine swaps that been bothering me for a while, ok lets say i take my 89 civic and swap a b16 into it, and i go to buy a cold air intake, do i buy it for the 89 civic, or for the car that the b16 was originally in? or if i get like a turbo or something do i have to have it fabricated, or is there bolt ons for engine swaps? So bassically what im asking is, when buying parts for a car that has had an engine swap, do you buy parts labeled for the particular car?, or for the car that the engine came out of (or just the engine itself), thanks guys, you have helped me before and im just hoping you can help me again, any help is greatly appreciated

combination.
chassis based parts (an intake) would be purchased for your chassis but the version w/ the most similar engine (like an Si)
anything that bolts to the engine would be purchased for the engine (like a header, intake manifold, or turbo manifold).
Turbo kits (combination) would be custom or purchased for a 89 civic w/ a b16.

yea they make custom kits for b16s in 4th gens and anything like a clutch would be off the car the motor came out of or go to ebay and buy b16 parts

I have the AEM Hybrid Engine CAI. Its frikken awesome, my mechanic ordered it himself but, I had found several pages myself. Here is one site that has them: http://www.racingworks.com/aem_hybrid_cold_air_intake.htm
Overall, this is your best choice in my opinion. However I think if your retaining the AC after your swap you might not be able to use this setup because a resivoir was tossed for the space of the end of the intake behind the turn signal. I didnt retain my AC, which I think is best to do, but thats another story. Good luck
