which type of headers would be the best to get to achieve better low-mid performance, 4-2 or 4-2-1?? I am looking to later add a turbo so i wont need headers then but till then i need a bit more hp.

it's either gonna be 4-1 or 4-2-1. you want better low-mid, i'd go with the 4-2-1 design. 4-1 would better for high end.
btw, a new header really won't do much for you no matter what design. i'd just spend my money elsewhere until you get the turbo. just a suggestion. but if you must get a new header, go for the 4-2-1 for what you're looking for.

I agree with del, however I've heard that the best bang for your buck is the JDM headers with the heat shield (only what I've heard, I have a JDM engine so I have them already and have no basis for comparison). The consensus on this forum is that DC sport headers do nothing except look shiny, so don't waste your money, the headers on the prelude are good already.

SMSP 4-1 will give you the more gains than any other header on the market. But they're so expensive, you might as well boost it.

yeah, I don't think you can get those for under a grand, and even then I think you only gain 14 whp...definitely not worth the money

hell no considering i can build a turbo for about a grand

really? could you give me a list of parts on how you can do that?

You can't say you'd be disappointed with a ~20whp untuned gain (when paired with 2.5 catback). That's a hell of a gain from two bolt ons alone. But the bang for buck...well.. :disappoin

I'd definitely agree it's worth a bolt on for that kind of gain, but it's just the price that kills me. I'm happy wiht me JDM headers.. at least until I do some kind of FI.

And how exactly do you plan on doing this?

you can peace together a turbo for around $1,000. you just have to know what you are doing.

i heard the DC sport 4-2-1 headers do suck but the 4-1 headers were pretty good actually...not as expensive has SMSP 4-1's but have pretty good gains...i cant base this on my personal experience but thats just what i heard.

JUN makes a good header for the Prelude also. Except, they pretty much cost about the same as the SMSP header.
