we are all complaining about how we'd need stickys and stuff
maybe if we start doing an informative thread, we could msg a mod or admin and have it stickied
what do you guys think ?

Well I second the bump, and we really need some sticky threads on here. Who can we talk to to make this a sticky?

Well this bump goes out to all the people wanting to import a RX7 here. I also stole some of the links from a post that FCsilvia made so thank him for showing you where your answers are for importing.

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=320824

I'll also try to keep this thread somewhere near the top untill we can get it stickied.

i'll leave this one open, but you guys should post this info in the thread with some rules... use this one if you need to talk/argue about the contents.

sorry it took so long, i've been having computer issues lately.

if you guys want anything else, pm me about it.

mcs : you cant just say rotary engines got 14 to 20 mpg, an 86 will have a very different fuel consumption than a 94 running 14 pounds...

Very true and I've read where some people have used a standalone and got 25+ mpg on N/A FC's with a few other reliability mods.

posts in the FAQ thread should be posted here and approved, otherwise we will have a useless FAQ thread

this post should as well be corrected, the specs on the site are for 86-91FC3S 86-89 Specs, and imformation. http://2ndgenrx7.freeservers.com/page1.html

D3rELic is right we should get things approved before we start posting more just to be sure everything is on the line.
With that said I was wondering how everyone felt about adding pettitracing.com and RX7.com to the list for RX7 performance sites?

watcha think of this one ?

WHY NOT USE SYNTETIC OIL ON STOCK ENGINE :
syntetic oil as aditives that arnt designed to burn

rotary engine has a device to lube up the seals, an oil meetering pump (OMP) shoots oil in the rotor chamber, its called an oil meetering pump, unless you have removed that pump (and you are runing premixed oil in your gaztank), running syntetic oil will leave shit in the engine therefore reducing power and life time.

royal purple is a syntetic oil and it works fine on RX7's you should also specify what is a pre mix.

I just bought an 87 RX7 for $900. Perfect exterior and decent interior. The only major problem with this car is that it has a 3,800 rpm hesitation. Would it be the fuel injectors, spark plugs, exhaust, cold solder points in the cpu? What! Does anyone accually know the answer or have a clue? HELP!

If you add aftermarket mufflers and an intake to a RX7, wouldnt it run rich? If it runs rich, what kind of hardware would you invest in to control it. If it runs too rich, the apex seals will burn out faster. Right or wrong?

k2dogg86 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=159502) : no your car will run fine after intake/exhaust mods, T2s and FDs are another story

from the FC FAQ on the rx7club.com :

I have this hesitation whenever I accelerate right around 3500-4000 RPM
The dreaded 3800 RPM hesitation is cause 90% of the time by poor ground connections between the engine, the battery, and the car. Clean or replace all the under hood ground connections. Some people have also claimed replacing/regrounding the pressure sensor's ground wire has helped. If there is still a problem after that, look at cleaning the fuel injectors and (on a N/A) that your 5th/6th ports are operating correctly.

Pre-mix: mix motor oil and fuel so that they can be injected into the chambers at combustion time. It is advantageous because the rotary burns a little oil by design. You can remove the OMP to do this, but its not always necessary.
