WHOA MAJOR PROB. car started sounding funny

well...as of the old problems of overheating.....lol...today i get in my car and it starts kinda shitty...like it took a couple tries....then as im driving i notice a huge sluggish stick to the engine as the revs go up....and obvios HP loss.....next im driving it on the street more opening up and i notice the same lack of pwer and this funny sound so i turn off the radio and my car almost has this added rumble(like on top of my exhaust note) a rumble similar to a small V8 or like a modest bike ehaust. so its driving really shitty and has this fucked up rumble. like 2 notes of it and its intermitant through out the rpms....im fucked i just know it ...now someone please tell me how

how are the RPMS? what it seems like to me is the power transister, rectangle black box by the coil pack. sounds to me like its either bad or isnt grounded anymore. what you need to do is test for spark. if there is spark in the 1st + 4th cylinders but not in 2nd + 3rd cylinders or vice versa, then its your transister. not 100% positive but it has happened to me and my buddy before and thats what it was. the car was only running of the 1st and 4th cylinders, i could physically pull the spark plug wires off the 2nd and 3rd cylinders and it would do absolutly nothin. good luck

still havewnt gotten to checking for spark(how?) but i did notice that trace ammounts of grey(oil) smoke coming from the middle plugs
