altenator wont charge battery

I have replaced the battery and altenator on my 97 taurus gl and my battery is still going dead both parts are brand new. :confused:

Assuming everything is hooked up right,

How long does it take to drain the battery?

Is you Alt light on?

what is the output of the alternator?

HAve you had any other work done recently? Sometimes mechanics forget to hook stuff back up or pinch wires that cause shorts.

Autozone and Pepboys seem to provide a lot of DOA alternators, if that is the route you went. You need to get or borrow a multimeter and see what the alternator is doing.
