Well, since my airbrush is dead due to a fatal fall :disappoin and while i wait for the new one to be shipped, i decided to join the muscle car club and build this one. It will basically be inspired by lateral-g's website cars. Side exhaust and wing like project 50/50, this kind of stuff.
I already played with wheels and came up with tamiya's calsonic R32 rims (why not ?). Front ones have been decreased in width, while i built a custom lip for the rear ones, with deeper offset. Tires are bridgestone at the front and slicks at the rear. That's all i have for the moment.
Not decided about the engine as i know much about those big V8 setups, but a wiring is in plan.

Sorry for the bad pics, the cam's batteries are low, but you can get the idea.

Pretty cool. Just look at tons of reference for the engine, or use all that reference and design your own like I am doing with my hot rod.
Cool project, keep us updated!

First of all, thanks for the link will, that will be of great help for the engine. Speaking about it, i went to a model shop this afternoon, and found a donnor for the engine. It's amt camaro Z28 (don't know the gen. 95' model i think), with the LT-1 engine. It will give engine, rear trans/suspension, maybe front suspension too, and interior details.
I also bought 2mm x 3mm styrene to build a frame at the rear, as the new wheels don't want to fit under the fenders, so i cut off the whole rear frame of the 69' chevy.
Well, i'll post pics once the frame is built and engine test fitted.

Will's actually putting an LT-1 out of a '94 Camaro in his 1:1 '69 Camaro, that's kinda funny that you decided to do it in your model!

That's awesome your building this car with a LT1, i built a pro-touring black camaro but used an LS1 because i had it lying around from the 2002 SS kit. I would rather have put a LT1 in it because like 99civichic said that is what i'm building right now in a 1:1 scale. I should be finished with the 1:1 by the first of next year. Definitly keep us updated on this project.

Thanks for the interest, be sure i'll keep you updated.
Will, if you have ref pics of the front frame mods, drop them to me in mp (if you have some). Also how feasible would it be to put the front suspension on the 95 camaro on the 69' ?

This is will69camaro:
In reality it's about impossible to put the 95 camaro front end on it and it really isn't necessary. The LT1/T56 pretty much dropped right into my car (motor mounts are the same and i bought a tubular 3 piece tranny crossmember from BMR). There were no frame mods necessary. On my model that i made i chopped the front by shaving the cylinder that makes contact between the two pieces of the front suspension and it got it to sit nice and low.
If you have any more questions ask away.

Updates:
The rear frame is done, as well as the whell wells. I had to shorten the gas tank to fit between the frame rails. (a bigger engine and a smaller gas tank  )
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesalex/69'%20camaro/Photo%20009.jpg
Now there's a lot of space for the gums :smokin:

Nice! But dont glue that old gas tank back in place. Put a fule sell in the thrunk in stead. i know alot of people that have done that to their streat leagal cars. and it does look good if you can pop the thrunk and in there you have the gas tank.

Here's what i made so far:
I followed anton's advice and decided to scrap the gaz tank. Then i decided to open the trunk to display the fuell cell (still to be done)
Closed:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesalex/69'%20camaro/Photo%20015.jpg
Opened:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesalex/69'%20camaro/Photo%20016.jpg
Styrene strips were glued to reduce the opening gaps of the trunk, and to build a new opening gate on the body.
I made new offset wheels at the rear, using PVC tubing, and inserting the dish into them. I bought a 2.5 meter long tube and used only 3 cm :)
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesalex/69'%20camaro/Photo%20023.jpg
You can also see the side skirts, the exhaust tips will be right under the filled air intakes.
And finally the LT-1 engine, with exhaust ports drilled, waiting for new headers:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesalex/69'%20camaro/Photo%20020.jpg
I decided the engine setup, but i won't tell more about that until it's done. It will envolve massive hood cutting, and will end as an undrivable car on wet track !

I got the bodywork done, so i started painting this one. Tamiya medium gray as primer, and motip touch up pencil for the blue/purple color.
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/imagesalex/69'%20camaro/Photo%20032.jpg
i made side exits for the exhaust (not really visible on the pic) and sectionned the rear panels, added styrene strips and glued all in place, lower and wider. Now the rear fenders follow the side skirts.
I'll add a slightly lighter blue flamming and clear coat it, then i'll continue the chassis mods. The headers are done, but i decided to build a new front frame and install the '95 camaro suspension.

Im more of a fan of mods to the engine then the body, but what youve done looks really good. Nice smooth body.

This car is shaping up to be a very nice build. BTW what do you mean "section the fenders"? Whatever it is it looks great! I love the color choice (light blue flames, that is going to be sick!) There is only one thing about this car that I do not like.....oh wait, no there's not!!
p.s. Don't mean to stel your progress thread but I have a question that mosty pertains to Camaro's. I am in the process right now of building a super-smooth 69' and I want everything(the panels) to appear molded together (only doors, trunk, and front quarterpanel lines will be present.) My question is; if you put the front (bumper, valance, grille) on, fill, and sand smooth as well as the back, the chassis is hard (if not impossible) to fit the body to the chassis? With my last 69', I put the front on but left the rear valance off in order to get the chassis under the body. One of the last things I did was to glue the (pre-painted) rear panel on and now that is the only part of the model I am not happy with. I am sorry if what I am trying to say is not clear to you but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes with the rear panel glued on the body it's hard to put the chassis on, as the body sides are very curved. I solved the problem with cutting the front section of the chassis with the wheel wells :evillol: .
Thanks for looking, BTW the flamming won't be light blue, its gonna be a blue just a little lighter than this one, kind of ghost flames.
