Hey guys, I am thinking of taking out the V6 engine in my 1999 Firebird, and replacing it with a new crate engine from Jegs, it's a GM 350 H.O. engine. My question is, what else would I need to replace in the car due to the extra power and torque? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm thinking of doing this soon.

I don't know much about firebirds, I mostly deal with Neons. I'm sure the same issues apply though - motor mounts, transmission, ecu, wiring harness...anyone think of anything else?

I don't want to sound like a a$$ or anything but I have answered this question like 4 times in the last week. So if you do a search you will find alot of info on this site about it. But its more cost effective to sell your vehicle and buy one with a V8,.

You will need to replace tranny, motor mounts, ecu, wiring harness etc..., fuel pump, you'll most likely want to replace your rearend, i'd want disk brakes in the back too. Are you going to put a carburated engine in or fuel injected? cause a carb motor would be a lot easier. Well, post back and maybe i can give you some more advice.

...also, since you have the 3.8 motor, i know of a website that sells turbo kits for that car. they give some pretty impressive results. something like 450 hp and torque. And with cam and heads and all that stuff, it'd be quite a nice combination. not to mention you'd be the only one around. i'll try and find the link for you.
