Car:2000 Civic Si
Problem: E-Brake Light
my ebrake light turns on/off when i first start my car until i get on the highway.
here are the conditions that it happens in.
1. It stays on after i release the lever.
2. It only happens when i start my car for about 15 minutes.
3. It doesnt stay on all the time during those 15 minutes.
4. It turns off and on in no specific pattern.
5. I have checked that the E-Brake was actually releasing at the lever.(while the light was on)
6. I have checked that the E-Brake was actually releasing at the rear brakes. (while the light was on)

If this has happened to anybody and they fixed it could they please let me know how?
Could it be somewhere in the wiring of the switch?

Have You Checked The Actual Brake Fluid, When This Is Low It Makes The Light Come On.

Okay, ignore Mr. Capitalize Every Word, he's either clueless or didn't read your post. Emergency brakes are cable actuated, so you aren't going to get a light due to brake fluid being low on your e-brake. I would suggest locating the switch that activates the light (should be near the handle) and making sure that it isn't shorting or sticking- it sounds like it's doing one of the two.

actually he is right for the 92-95 civics... the ebrake light is the only light on the dash related to the brakes so it is also used to alert you to a low fluid condition. i dont know if this is the case on the newer cars

ah, my bad. wierd :screwy: you would think they could have invested the .0002 cents required for that extra light.
