Update:
so far ive firgured out ima need
The head, big port blue top (can use redtop, i might sell bluetop and use redtop, bluetop is for tourqe, redtop is for HP)
Intake manifold off 4age
Exhaust manifold off 4age
4 new fuel injectors, (currently getting 4 al track fuel injectors)
new fuel pump (mabe a whalbro 255LP supra pump)
Apexi (or other brand) fuel controller
And hers the hard thing to find, the right adapter plate...i think i got luckey and found one but ima need to match my head and intake manifold(when i get it) to see what matches up, for those of you that dont know what it is it allows you to mate a different intake mnifold to an engine block
im not sure if the throttle bodys are gunna match up... but im pretty sure they will, ima eventually go with the 4age becuase its 4mm bigger..intake and all that are good to go
if anone has any insight or sees any of these parts lemme know!!
FYI after all this (roughly $300-750 depend if i get new parts or used ones off ebay) im expecting at least 140HP to the wheels... should be somewhere along 160 Hp with the headers (gettting aftermarket header) and i might port/polish the head/ intake manifold when i get it... so hopefuly wishign around 180 when im all done

oh yeah, basically i cant use the big port intake manifold becuase my uce/ vaccume hoses are enquipped for the TVIS system.... Even though i almost bought the wrong adapter plate, i now can just go out and buy the right one...
i think ima sell my samll port, (or return it) and get a big port, id yield more hp with the small port untill i blow it or somehow get above 200 WHP n/A
TVIS: The big port heads, apart from the supercharged 4AGZE's, all use the TVIS (Toyota Variable Induction System) to improve the low to mid range torqeu. What it does is shut down halfl of each inlet port with a set of small butterflys to make the airflowu go into the inlet port itself a lot faster. Certailny, with a stock engine the low end performance is noticably decreased when it's disconnected. The TVIS is operated by a small vacuum powered device that sits under the inlet manfold, and the vacuum source for this is provided by a computer controlled air solenoid, that get's the vacuum source from the inlet manifold. When the engine isn't running, the TVIS isn't working, and so the butterflys are in the open position. When the engine starts, the computer sends a signal to the electrical solenoid, with then passes on the inlet vacuum to the TVIS vacuum solenoid, which then shuts the butterflys. So, if you want to try the engine to see what it's like without the TVIS, all you have to do is to pop the vacuum hose off (and block it) and the TVIS will stay open

IMHO the 4AGE will net you pretty good power but as far as reliability and availability of parts. It gets complicated...especially for the supercharged cousin.
http://www.radcastro.com/Projects/Project+ST2GT4/899.aspx
You should jump in the Club4Ag boards for more information on the 4A engines. They're very resourceful there.
It doesn't make sense to compare the 3SGTE and the 4AGZE since they are both created for different applications. The 3SGE (non turbo) and the 3SGTE have significant differences and the 3SGTE has specific compression configurations just for the CT26. The 3SGE (rare) is the actual 130-140 HP N/A engine is the one you should be referring to.
In terms of potential...the 3SGTE is a more viable option in terms of power potential and reliability....even for STs
the 3SGTE has appeared in Japan Grand Touring Championships (within a Supra...yes...instead of the 2JZ). The 3S has also appeared in the WRC and Super Taikyu.

oh im not doubting the potiantial and greatness of the 3sgte, ive just found that if you crunch HP #'s to how much a swap would be plus buying aftermarket parts to yield more HP the 4agze is technically better....to be honest id much rather have a 3sgte 3rd gen but thatsnot really an option to me.... price per HP right now, the 4a(f)ge is a better ...um...price plan

throddle bodys do match up (from what i can see)
but thers another problem, IGnition...i need to find a new distributor, the 4AFE wont work with the 4age...im probably gunna get a stock 4age with mabe an msd ignition but not sure on that...need more $$$ before i buy much more

the 4afe bottem end isnt meant to withstand alot of horsepower...i had advanced the timing a little bit and had mods on my car, i probably was pushin 160 HP on a lean fuel to air mixture and was climing a VERY steep hill at about 90 MHP in 3rd gear...and at 149,000 miles thats nto a good combination

haha how do u figure, im using mostly as a commutor car that ill be keeping under 3000 rpm, as well as this ar has to last me thorughout the rest of college and i dont like high reving motors becuase for town driving they eat the shit outta gas milage and have no tourque...try having a motor that has little tourque in a hilley ass place while trying to save gas under 3k rpms's please if u have another suggestion tell me :)
and fyi there wont be a great decrease in HP...only a good 5-10% becuse of the F head...not only that there wil actually be a 10-20% increase in tourqe as well as a smoother supply of it

basically i need tourque for mountain runs and auto cross and i need the extra tourqe to get of the line ina 1/4...look at the gts celicas 2zzge...if it only had more tourqe that thing could keep with the rsx -s all day and beat it (weight diff and hp diff)

if you come pare the new 3SGE to the RSX-S KA motor the 3SGE has more tq and it get the same hp, but a few hundred RPMs faster. Just wish the continued with the 3SGE.

yeah 3sge was good little motor, glad they put it in altezas and such, they shoulda kept the 5sfe for the new gt celicas but added vvti o it, it makes more hp and tq than the gt and its 15 ywears younger :)

theres alot, and i mean ALOT of wiering issues along with it, if you looking forthe cheapest alternative you can buy a high comp 16V 4age (10.3:1 comp instead of ur 9.3:1) and just ufe your f head, so ull have a high comp 4afe...but just swapping for a 4age isnt really recommended, onlye 160 hp in the end and your about $3500 out the door...youd have to buy a whole front clip, unless you getting a 20v black or silvertop then i wouldnt even think about it
the 4agze is a possibility but unless u do it on ur own i wouldnt wast my money to have a shop to do all the work, it would be $1500+ on the engine work/swap alone not to mention having to buya whole front clip (the reson i dont have to with my swap is becuse im using the existing head)

its not, and itsa secret :), she also had custom exhaust and had iridium plugs and all the rest the ignition stuff to compensate for the supercharger... basically... and at low boost, basicaly it came down to her running on stock radials and roasting or bogging down everytime
i dont like Tc's at all...supercharger or not
there too heavy at a almost 3000 pound curb weight plus the fact taht she has a buncha added stuff like front mount intercooler, supercharger and subs...i outweightd her by 600 pounds and have awsome tires, she has 40-50 Hp on me and has shit for tires

I don't know if that is completely true, we at least for GM it isn't since they cut their Fiero due to the company forecasting that in 3~4 years after 1988 they wouldn't be making enough money, while the years that they were in production GM was making a profit off of it. I know I would buy one if they made a new one, hell I'm planning on buy an 88 as my second car.

There is so much wrong with this post and ideas, I dont know where to start. Please dont take this personal as I dont mean it in any way, but when wrong information is distributed, it gives novices the wrong ideas.
Stock 4A-GZE Engine Specs:
AE92 AW11 Japan 88-90
145@6400
AE92 Japan 90-91
165@6400
AE101 Japan 92-95
170@6400
The 4A-GZE sc12 supercharger adds approximately 25hp at the stock 8psi boost it delivers to the de-compressed engines. It displaces 1200cc's (or 75ci) per revolution. Removing 1200cc's from an engine does not drop 10 HP.
You mentioned the guy you talked to did a valve lift that doubled the stock lift, which is engineeringly impossible. You would need to completely fabricate a new head to do such a task.
Next, you did a comparison on the 4a-gze and 3s-gte naturally aspirated engines which is completely false. You cannot compare the 3s-ge and the 3s-gte (without a turbocharger) because internally they are competely different engines with different camshafts, crankshafts, compression ratios, pistons, fuel injectors, etc... They are different engines completly. And the 4a-gze without a supercharger does not have a HP output of 170.
Third, I have personally driven an ae92 GTS corolla with a 4agze swap which weighs ~2400 the same as a ST celica and I have also been driven in a GT celica with a 3s-gte swap and the speed differential is no comparison, the celica would beat the corolla vastly on the midrange and top-end. The race would be a tie out of first and second gear but third gear would devastate the 4a-gze.
I could go on with more corrections of the ideas in this post but the few I have given can help the novices out there looking for info.

As for the talk of a new all-trac engine from Toyota...
Thats never going to happen, Toyota as a company has shifted its image to more of reliability and "niftyness" as shown with the introduction to the Scion line and the deletion of the Celica, MR-S, Supra, and pretty much any car that can complete 0-60 mph in the 6s or under. All we have is the good ol' days.
