how do take off the speed limiter on a 1.8 ecu

I just wanted to know how to take off the speed limiter on the ecu?
it on a 1994 mits eclipse

didnt know they had one, where is it at? I have been just over 120mph in mine! Takes a long long road.

On 1g's, i beleive the speed limiter is 5th gear, redline, not a speed limiter, but more of a rpm limiter. The only reason you can't get up to the speeds of 130-140, is because your car isn't modded enough, to be able to counter the wind resistance. I do hope your not running stock tires, if you are, do not attempt this. There are numerous other reasons, but that is my big one.

i have a intake, exhaust, test pipe, a chip, short shifter,polyurethane motor mounts, and yes i do have z-rated tires but it only went up 110mph. what else can i do to that engine that you know of. im probably getting zex in about 2 weeks when i get payed.

mine got to 120 with just intake and exhaust and 17" wheels and Z rated tires. I dont know what else to do as long as its NA. If you get a zex nitros kit, dont go over a 75 shot and i would start out with a 55, both these nozzels should be included in the kit. Make sure you have a air fuel ratio gauge so you can make sure its not leaning out. That should get you up to the speed limiter. But i would suggest some supension mods too so it doesnt get all squirley, these cars really werent ment to go that fast. We got to 140 in my friends prelude after installing a zex dry nitros kit. But we were on a very secluded road, please dont do this near people.

i thought the 1g nt's were slightly faster than the 2g 420a nt's...? i guess not because i know my gs hit 115 one night and wasnt stopping when i let off... that was back when it was bone stock except for the ebay cai.. peace

maintenance is cheaper
the car is cheaper
the engine is a non interference motor. meaning that if you break a timing beklt you just need to put on a new one and you dont need 2000 bucks worth of head work like you will if you break a tbelt on a 2.0

Oh yay i can speed less money to go slow. You can't really be serious. A healthy stock awd will beat you every time no matter what you do. The awd could have 10% of the money you put into your car and be in the 12's.

i have a awd im just saying that you dont have to be an ass about it. soem people want to be different some people have money or time invested in a 1.8 and dont want to start over.

that is exactly why im sticking with my car because it was my first and ive done too much to start all over. I even got a cyclone engine sitting in my house so that i can swap it. but until then i need way to make my 1.8 a little faster. because my homesboys with hondas talk a lot of SH!T.

i dont want to really hook my 1.8 i hace the 2.0 cyclone sitting in my house just waiting to save some money first and i want to do little things on the 1.8 before i swap it. ooo I found out why it would go pass 110mph because i need a new fuel filter and pump.
