hey...i was at the illegal tracks the other night and meet this guy that had a highly tuned ka24de he told me...he said that his car was very strong...i kinda believed him but im not sure if i would be able to beat him...i have a black top sr swap stock...and he has a whole bunch of stuff...he has soch pistons, all bolt ons (i/h/e), pulleys, altima or maxima cams(forgot which ones), and z32 injectors with a safc...that sounds like he'll be hella quick...i think he has more but how quick will he be runing in 1/4 and how much hp will he be pushing???i think i will lose, even though i have a turbo...hahaha

Ka to me have more potential than an SR, but with no forced induction, I doubt, unless he has put a substantial amout of bolt ons and tuning.
I think you could take him.

It sounds like he would probably run something in the 14's in a quater mile
What do you run?

i havent ran my car yet...i dont know wat times i will hit...but if u guys say that then he must be slow...hahaha...shouldve SRed it...hahaha...thanks peeps...i thought that all those stuff wouldve made his car go faster...i havent seen him run yet...but i think he say that he can take out na z32, hondas of course, but not the b20 swaps and the ls vtecs...i dont know wassup with him...i dont believe him n e more

Damn straight he can't take LS/Vtec's. I'm just having fun. I have one so I like to hear good things about them. If he can't beat them then he's probably in the low 15 to high 14 range in the quarter. My Honda runs low 14's with an LS/Vtec and a couple mods. You can take him, no problem. Race his ass for 5G's.

yo N-sain is that your 240 in the sig? isn't that a s13 fastback with a s14 front?

I _seriously_ doubt said modified KA24DE would run less than 15.5 on the track.
Any more, why does he have the sohc pistons in his dohc? wouldn't that just lower the compression? That's not a good thing unless he's turbo, but he's not -.-

hahaha...shouldve SRed it...hahaha
Hahahaha....No.
He's probably full of shit. No need for any kind of injectors unless he's making more than 200HP, which he's not. An S-AFC is good for any car with an owner that knows how to use it. It takes a shitload of work to make a KA NA make more than 180WHP. You figure thats about what I make now with 5psi. SOHC pistons do raise compression. No street trim KA NA is making more than 190hp. It wouldn't idle correctly. Once again proving why small engines are much better off going with forced induction. I ran a 15.8 with I/H/E and toyos. I doubt he can take an SR.

Really? Sohc pistons raise compression? how much do they raise it? Yeah though, he's probably not very far under 16 seconds, if you know how to drive your car, you won't have a problem with him.

SOHC pistons are 8.8:1 i believe. also its pointless to run 370cc in a n/a 240. esp how it won't run unless its tuned. why would anyone spend 250 dollars an hour for a dyno tuning session on a n/a KA? all of his mods are contridictary.
he wants to run n/a but he lowered the comp. hes running larger injectors then neseccary. i was making around 200whp on my stock injectors making 7 psi. so his 370cc injectors are over kill as he will never get near that number.
i have a friend with a S14 here are his mods
injen cold air intake
hot shot headers
UR pulleys
light weight fly wheel
ACT clutch
alumium drive shaft
Z32 LSD
JWT ecu
B and M short shifter
N1 dual exhuast
both CAT's gutted.
his car can probrably run a low 15 tops.
his car felt extremely slow once you hit 3rd gear. he can only take out stock H22 ludes. ( thats really nothing to brag about )

Yeah, thats what I thought, I think sohc's are 9.1:1, and the dohc's would be 9.5:1 or some where around there.
I'm starting do doubt he can even get into the 15's with that kind of mess =\

No I believe the 90 KA24E had the 9.1:1 but it also had flat-top design pistons where the KA24DE has around a 30cc dish. I'm pretty sure it would raise compression. I believe the combusion chamber on the DE is much smaller than the E. Thats what gives us a higher compression ratio.

yes while the design of the piston, and hte angle of the head is definitly a factor in compression ratio. the ending number will still be 9:1 or what whatever it is from the factory. the main determining factor is the height of the piston from the wrist pin up. however yes if you want to get complicated, it would technically theoretically go up in compression due to the narrow angle pent head of a DE. but why would do that? i mean its probrably not goin to raise it a big deal and its probrably still goin to be lower comp then a stock DE piston. this guy i'm almost 100% sure is full of shit.

wow...i have come to the conclusion that the guy is bullshiting...since all of u guys here say that he has a funkyass setup...i will race him once im out there...that gay guy...well anyways, the pic in my sig is not my car...i wish it was but yeah its not...i posted up on many 240sx forums trying to finda conversion kit for the fastbacks but no luck yet...and NO that is not a photoshoped picture...its a picture i got off of a 240sx forum site...i forgot which one...its soooo nice...its some guys in japans car, of course...ever nice conversion comes from there...oohhh and thanks to all the peeps who have put up all the info

uhh...SOHC pistons in DOHC KA would raise the compression higher than 11:1 cant remember the exact number but it's pretty damn high.
