whats with focus drivers

just thought i would post htis as it seems relevant to street racing, i have a 2000 z28 camaro and i street race it every once in a while. I know how civics take all the bad rap as being "ricers" but seriously i havent seen many civics with just plain out ricer drivers. Guys in ford focuses i think have taken over the role from guys in civics as ignorant ricers(not that i have anything against imports, im planning on buying a 300zx and modding it)

but i say this because lately i have come across several guys in focuses who were just all out knuckle heads. One of them was last night and got me thinking about the subject.

Last night a guy in a ford focus was antoginzing me while i was driving to the mall with a buddy. I was going about 65 in a 55, and he kept pulling up beside me taking off and slowing back down trying to get me to race. I intially ingored him bc I watched how fast he was when he took off and it seemed to me like who wasnt worth my gas. After taking off twice and slowing back down he got next to me a third time and i looked over. The bitch was flicking me off, Thats what triggered me. I push in the clutch give it a rev, he takes off i drop it in third, bark the dogs and got a couple buslengths on him by the top of fourth, I dont know why he was antagonizing me, i think he just wanted his ass handed to him. But the guy really didnt have any business flicking me off, or even trying to race me. So after i hit the brakes he flys by me at about 80-90 ish, hand out the window birdie flying. LOL me and me friend just start cracking up, he must of read the ricer 101 handbook bc he did everything perfectly to a T.

Before this happened about a week ago a guy in a focus starts revving at me at a light. Feeling frisky i figured he could have somthin under the hood bc i notcied a big fart can when i pulled up. He didn't have anyhting, needless to say it was over by halfway through second.

There are some respectable people out there driving focuses who tune them, but there are alot of idiots out there in there focuses giving you guys a bad name. And there are dickheads out there in domestices too
I posted this just to say i think the focus has taken over the civic as the role of car driven by the ignorant ricer.

Maybe you have something on the back of your car that gets thier attention. Either that or Ford Vs. Chevy is getting the best of you :P Our 4bangers own all v8-gaschugging cars.

I swear, I can always see one cutting through traffic and trying to cut people off on lanes that merge together. Those suckaZ are so slow.

idk man, ive had a few unpleasent run ins with focuses in the past. I think ford over hyped them and so did the media, thats what got the rice.

i find it funny that the "high performance" SVT focus still runs high 15s/low 16s. Is it just me, or is that really freakin slow for a new car. I mean, a v6 accord or srt4 can easily kill one, and for the same price (the srt4 anyway, not the honda)

First off there are always cars that are faster. However I agree focuses are slow, even the SVT. However I believe saleen made on on spray. That should have some punch to it.

SVT Focus might be easy to kill in a straight line, but take it to AutoX and their will be a different story.

The foci that show up at our SCCA, BMWCCA, and BU club autocrosses are all slow as dirt. Even my little brother in his base model Jetta blows them away.

BTW, 19mpg is slurpin' down some fuel. My Subaru gets around 30mpg on 227hp/227lb-ft, AWD. My Saturn (not a fair comparison, but still) gets 42-hwy/36-city and it has over 100,000 miles on it.

Highrev, u bought a mustang? After reading ur sig, all i have to say is congrats. what kind of vinys do u have? i know the 35 anniversary models come w/some sort of decal stuff either on the hood or doors.

19city 27highway, thats pretty badass for a v8, and its got a motor thats about four times the size of your saturn(im guessing it is a 1.somthin liter) i am in no means saying its a economy car but that is defintely good gas mileage for a v8

Yea I got the car last saturday and I love it. As for the decals it replaces the "GT" logo on the sides with a 35th pony logo. It also has different 17" rims. (Needless to say, my insurance charges me 10$ more a month over my original quote because it is a 35th).

I was just talking to a regular customer who was telling me his Z06 got 30 MPG on the highway on his latest trip, not bad for a V8 gas chugger i would say.
No one says you have to race someone, it's usually funner just to ignore those kind of people and watch them get pissed off.

That why I call then teh Ford Fuckass as opposed to Focus...;)

no offense but the cockiest focus drivers are white people/no offense im part white too, im just saying.

I dunno, if someone gave me a new ZX3 or 5, I would drive it, they can be made to be a good car it just takes work, plus whats the fun in tuning a car if it's already tuned? I mean a lot of people here can be really critical of cars but in honesty I would drive it. Slap a turbo or supercharger and some basic mods and you have a fairly peppy car. Not fast... but it would be quick.
