I saw that box yesterday. I think it will work fine. MTX is a good, well known brand name. If 10's are what your looking for, I say go for it.

Yeah, I was looking at that same box on ebay too, I was thinking about buying one as well, but I was wondering if I could still use the stock stereo with this or would I need to buy an aftermarket cd player to hook up the amplifier. I'd really like to know so that I have everthing I need when i go to install it. Please help.

hi guys i used to install stereo's for sound performance and we dealt with mtx, i find they used to have great stuff but now kind of give way to the amount the pump out rather that quality just like alpine, kenwood, they go for mass production, but anway's mtx still beat's many, many name brands i'd still buy it i guess.

Make one yourself.

First make the box out of card board and then convert to MDX wood.

Then you can use any speakers you want.

That cheap a$$ thing is worthless if you really want bass.

PLASTIC !!!!! WTF????

Ask the guy to take the speakers out and send you a picture of the magentics on the back of the speakers. The bigger the better. I bet they are small.

If the speakers are smaller than 15" than a waste of time.

Uh dude, not everyone can use a 15.. especially in a truck. I've heard 12's that if hooked up properly, and used in the right enclosure, will kick any 15, or PAIR of 15's ass in this world.

well back to when i worked at a stereo shop bla bla bla! we has a cd disk for all speaker's it gave the spec's for the size for custom box i.e depth, width, hight, etc for best performance and different config's for the same speaker to get optimum sound also the size and lenght of the port hole make's or break's it i.e 4in hole 6in tube or 6in hole 4in tube?,we put 2 10in orion xtr together(isometric) face to face in a closed box and the db blew away many differnt config's of bigger speaker's, please just call the manufacture of any speaker you buy they will give you these spec's for optimum performance also gschretter is right we used MDF multi-density fiber board for our box's it work's best glue and scew it together then line it with average cotton batter (pillow stuffing) thin layer inside the box will help to get lower, deeper BOOM! trust me do it your self com'on you can do it! it's like a drummer putting a pillow into his bass drum.

best wood in canada is called MDF BOARD multi-density fiber board , oh and i thought the box had speaker's guy's i'd buy the box i think look's good shouldn't have a problem and it'll fit perfect so i take back what i said that box on e-bay should do just fine and would be close to the amount to build one not to mention the B.S you'll have to go thru.
