I put Alpine type R 6"x9" speakers in the rear and Alpine Type S 6.25" in the front doors of my Honda Civic. I have a new Panasonic deck and it doesn't come close to putting out the power those speakers need, so should I buy an Alpine amp built for those speakers at 70rms x 4 or buy a four channel amp to power my speakers. Any suggestions are welcomed!

lol yah 70x4 is a 4 channel amp. That's why it's x4. But yah 70 watts should be enough to satisfy your needs.

You think 70 amps will be enough? The Type R's run 100rms and peak 220 and the type S run 75rms and peak at 200. 70 rms should be good, but what do you think peak power would be???

I dunno what peak power would be, and it doesn't really matter. You want to look for RMS, peak is just the juice it gives during a musical high. 70 watts RMS is plenty for those speakers unless your drive around with your music up high enough for people down 5 blocks can hear every single word.

No i don't listen to it very loud. I have to cover up the sound of my Civic's exhaust :grinyes: , but i wasn't sure what i neede to do, because the peak power is listed in really large numbers on the box so i thought i needed to do something w/ that also. thanks
