I was thinking about swaping out the punny 3.08 gears in my '95 T-bird to some nice 3.73. What do you think? How will it affect top speed and gas mileage?

If it's a daily driver and not much highway driving or speeds above 60, they'll be fine and you'll love the performance. I had 3.55 gears in my first '93 and on the highway at 75mph I was pushing 3000rpm. MPG really goes down the tubes the faster you drive. I loved them except for that.

Im sorry but there is no way you could've been pushing 3,000 rpm with 3.55 in it unless you were running a REALLY short tire. Ill pull about 3,000 in overdrive on the freeway doing right around 100, no joke, and I know it wont affect it THAT much.

To take full advantage of 3.73 gears you would need to have the computer reprogrammed (i.e. a chip).

I feel like an idiot. You are correct. I suppose not changing the speedo gear would've lead me to my inaccurate statement.
