Nah, thats exactly what I have in my hatch with B16. They're good.. Light.
Good luck finding some. I guess you Americans can use HX rims, but I had a hella hard time finding lightweight 14s here in Canada.
I think they're the best though. Smaller wheels are cool on small cars. :)

Any problems with traction/handling though? That's what I was worried about

I've got 14x5s and they handle pretty good. I don't have a b16 but I have some power to my turtle. I'm so used to breaking traction that when I lose it while grip driving, I don't get too nervous LOL. The tires are the main thing. I'm guessing if you get them in 6" wide you'll want 195s at least which would be fine.

Ya, its the tires that are important moreso than the rims.. I'm just using Kumho 712s in 185/55/14 and I really don't notice any worse handling or braking than when I had the same tires on my 16" rims. Falken Azenis are also really good tires and are available in a 14" size.
One thing I do notice though is the fact that tires are about $60 each cheaper than when I was running 16s. :)

what about 15's? That's a good spot in the middle. I was thinking of getting some 16's but i think it'd throw my speedometer off more. The 15's that i wanna get make my 60 mph read 59.7 on the speedo, which isnt bad. Whatcha think? Price is almost the same for wheels between 15 and 16

If you get a bigger wheel with a lower profile tire the overall size wont change enough to throw it off much

i wouldnt do 14's unless you had a limit you will be hard pressed to find really good tires in 14's of course you probably arent looking at pirreli p zero's either considering you are asking about 14's the tire will be what determines grip you wont find 45 series because its only a 14 but 14's are dirt cheap i would buy 15's and get some bfg drag radials if straight line is your thing i kid you not i've seen them take a 10th off someones 60 ft time

You should perhaps look into Miata wheels. Certain models had a BBS rim that weighed 8.5 lbs, but there hard to find (I could find one set and they guy wanted $600). More common are ones that weigh between 10-12 lbs. The only slight problem is the inner portion of the rim has to be bored out 2mm or so to fit the hub of the Civic. Check out http://www.miata.net/faq/wheel_weights.html for more info on what they look like and how much they weigh.

Yes, you can have a 225 on a 14" wheel. The width of the rim has no reflection on the diameter.
14X6 should have no problem using a 195 tire.

I had 195/60/14 on 5" wide rims. I rotated them a lot and they came out of balance... 6" or wider would've been better...
