Stattin / idoling problem

i have a 1997 LXi and it has 53000 miles, and it wont start sometimes, and other times it will and it will idol rough, then sometimes its fine, i find myself pumping the gas somtimes to get it to start, and it is starting to upset me, i have changed the disributer cap, spark plugs, and spark plug wires, at this mileage i am not sure what to think, i need help, thanks

sounds like premature fuel pump failure. The easiest way to check your fuel pump is to turn the key on and if you hear a humming sound coming from the back of the car around the fuel tank, your pump is fine, if not, you have a problem.
