Hello,
I currently own a 1986 Camaro 2.8 Litre V6 and was wondering what the gas mileage would be on it. I have not found any help in books or on the internet so far. If you could help me with this question I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.

drive it...... and do some math :evillol:
just kidding man, but seriously i honestly dont really know, and each car is going to be different depending on the miles it has on it, and how well maintained it has been. i would say less than 19mpg as a rough guess.

I will usually fill up the tank, and re-set the trip odometer.. Drive it around for a couple days, fill the tank back up and record how much gas you put in.. Compare that with how many miles are on your trip odometer and you have your fuel economy..
But in good running condition, it should get better than 19mpg, especially if it is a 5speed..

The EPA post a website with factory numbers for all cars 1986 and up, It will even tell you your average fuel cost. Pretty neat. Yours says 19 in city, 27 highway.

How about the expected mileage for a '96 3.4l V6? I just bought one tonight, and I was kinda wondering. Thanks.

Azrael4h, You really need to figure out what the deal is with that car being a 96 with a 3.4L It's driving me crazy!!! Oh, and don't expect 25 MPG, 19-21 is much more realistic.

I'm glad I'm driving someone else crazy. That way I'll have company.
Vin indicates it's a '95, checked it today. And actually I'm estimating 24-25 right now. I tend to get higher than EPA ratings, as I drive a lot lighter than the vast majority does. Though I'm hell around the curves.

Good! I'm glad you found out. It's pretty sad that it was bothering me too, but I know if I was in your shoes it would have been bugging the hell outta me.
