Okay, i'm not a fan of mustangs, the only thing is i love the sound of their exhaust. Was curious, if i take the exhaust setup from a mustang GT, mostly the outlet pipes/muffler, and have a muffler shop make and weld me a setup will i get the same sound as the mustangs or similiar? I just love the deep throaty sound, if not, is there any cat back or full exhaust setups that i can get that throaty sound from/with? Pricing is irrelevent right now.

nope that sound is commonly know as "V8 grunt" its gonna take a lot more then a stock eclipse engine with an exhaust to make that sound

well, the car wont be stock, it will be around 300 whp if dsmtuner is right with there stage 1 setup, then ofcourse it will be properly tuned.

still not gonna sound like a v8. you can get the modded muscle car rough idle sound if you put cams in but i dont know what will make it sound like a mustang

strait pipes with only a flowmaster muffler will help you get there. That and some cams

don't exactly want it to sound like a mustang, just that deep throaty sound, it sounds vicious to me :) like power :) instead of a little crotch rocket

i dont know, mustangs sound like they are pinging to me, i like a deep smooth sound (greddy evo catback), like stuff is hitting on all cylinders and tuned well. Why is it that v8s sound so much more rumbely than 4 bangers, they have 2 times the cylinders, shouldnt they be smoother sounding, like something is always firing. like if a 4banger goes "put put put put" shouldnt a v8 go "putputputputputputputput" ???

Yeah, cams and 3" exhaust. Makes the V8 guys think twice. ;)

Are we taking cam gears, or the actual shafts? How can these help the sound? It seems to me that this would not mod the sound in anyway shape or form.

different cams will affect the way the car runs. most people put in high lift cams which give a rough idle that sounds like a big muscle car.

a full 3in exhaust and HKS 272 cams will get your car to sound like this.... http://s95114753.onlinehome.us/pictures/clubdsm/chi04av1.avi

My gsx with mods in my sig has a REALLY nice, deep rumble at idle/cruising/wot. Just about any 4g63 with some pipes will sound mean as hell :smokin: :). A set of 272 cams would definitely help too.
