Wellthey totalled my car and the insurance company says they will give me the nada.com avg. retail value, but i printed some Cavaliers off of autotrader to compare prices, because i think i should get more than $3300 for the car. I seen on auto trader the same as mine with 30k-50k more miles than mine for 5k-6k.

i have seen cars with the same situation as mine... go buy www.KBB.com u can sell your car for 20K if you want... but no one will buy it... i only have 51K miles on mine and i've seen ones with 60-70 going for 6-9K... but its really worth base without all my mods.. 4400 as private seller... with all my toys on there i could sell it for another 2-2.5 K ontop of that... all my suspension upgrades were around 1K.. and rims and a bunch of other crap...

you can get a brand new base cavalier for 7900 after rebates and they are domestic economy vehicles which means they have one of the fastest depreciation. Also modifications do not add to the book value to a vehicle. NADA says for 1997 Cavalier RS with 90-100k is $3275 if your mileage is lower then you might be able to get a little more.

right, I know they do not add book value to the car...thats why its called book value.. i would add more onto the price of the car when i would sell it, or tell the person they can have book price minus all after market accessories and part the car out....
