removing paint with the clear windows in

I am restoring some models I built 30 years ago and the one in question I can not remove the windows without doing some damage,I was reading about the chemicals to remove the paint but if the clear windows are still attached will the chemicals destroy them. any help in this matter will be appriciated. If you use brake fluid to remove the paint you can leave the clear windows in. brake fluid wont hurt clear plastic. Iv'e done it many times.

Thanks for the info as I usually paint over but when removing the decals the paint started chipping off so removal is in order,
