getting the most out of your vr4? (how to drive it...)

well i currently have a 95 stealth base (auto), and might be getting a n92 vr4. the only slight problem is that i've never driven a manual transmission...
tomorrow a friend with a manual is going to take me out to get the hang of it, so hopefully by saturday when i go to see the car in person i can at least drive it a little.

my question is (and maybe this is just a stupid question to begin with, but i know nothing about driving a manual transmission(any good websites?)), do vr4's tend to have certain speeds at which you should shift them? would it be a lot different than driving a 93ish plymouth laser? (that's the car my friend has)

like i said, i know nothing about manuals so please understand that i'm not a stupid person, just ignorant ;)

Just shift around 3000-4000 RPms, granny shifting, but you wont have to worry about anything :iceslolan

Lol yea shift when you start to feel power or hear a nice purr haha.

as far as speeds when you shift... Try not to look at speeds as much as you look at the rpms. If you are trying to save gas then I would shift at the lowest points you can get at but if you are trying to have a little fun I would bring the rpms up a bit higher for each shift.

I mostly learned on my vr4...just get in it and drive, you'll learn quick enough.

it'll be the same thing as your buddy's laser, except with much more power, just don't break that 92 tranny case, go easy on the clutch!
