Ok, im a newb as it comes to cars, but im looking to replace the stock speakers in my 95 Corolla, but what size speakers fit in the door panels, and what size can fit the rear speakers, i can see that they are quite small, i can see that there are other spaces where speakers could fit, but i dont want to cut a hole to put a new speaker in, and have a hole where the old speaker was.

oh, and how to i replace the speakers in the doors, thanks

6.5 in the back, 4 in the front.

front door you have to take off your door panel, and after that it's easy. just unscrew the old speaker, disconnect the wires. reconnect them to the right places on the new speaker and reassemble.

the back can be a little tougher. you have to take out the back deck first. there's a few clips you have to unclip from the trunk. make sure you don't break the rear brake light cover when you're pulling it out too. once you get the clips, just slide it up and out towards you. getting to the screws holding the speakers down can be tricky, but it can be done. just be patient. once you get those out, put the new speakers in and put everythinng together.

if you need any help, PM me or IM on AOL at jmz250

p.s...i did this on my 93...not pulling it out of my ass

You can fit in 6x9's in the rear too, but they are close together. I just got a new rear deck and will get rid of the 6x9 idea. I think that the 2 6.5's will sound better.

93 rollaracer, I sent you an e-mail asking for details, but for anyone else out there who might be able to help:

How the heck do you get the stupid rear brake light off, so you can remove the rear deck cover? I've got the blasted cover almost completely off, unclipped and everything, but the brake light is screwing it all up. Do I slide it off horizontally? Do I pop it off? Do I pry it apart? Or, what I'd like to do at this point, crush it to death with a wrench? (Sorry, brake light, it's nothing personal. I just hate you.)

Any DETAILED description, or even a single word indicating the kind of motion required to be rid of the cursed brake light would be GREATLY appreciated. I have but ONE screw left, and then the cardboard speaker will be gone forever! Thank you for any help!

I'll try and upload my ghetto install on a 6.5 speaker in the front... Let's just say I was dissapointed after I removed the door pannel and found thatsquatshiaotofaspeaker in the door.
here is page 3 of my cardomain site showing my corolla.
I plan to get a real intake and filter down the road, after I relocate my battery.

The speaker pics should be up soon as I find them
