6 seconds in the 1/4? not even if you dropped it from a B52.
mebbe if you dropped it from a B52 on jupiter where the gravitational force is much much stronger.
6 second 1/4 miles are in the realm where no car can go, unless you call a loose collection of 'car-lookin' sheetmetal on a frame with a 500inch blown nitro burning motor a 'car'. but if you did that, it would not have to be an escort body. heck, you can make it look like big bird.

v 8 diesel or gas?
if gas then im looken at a hemesperic head, dual sparks, 32v.. then put it up to racing specs and runa dual turbo set up on it..maby run a driveshaft to the rear? put in a 6 speed, a good stiff frame and cage.. all that.. with me puttin in the work.. run round 20k? not bad..

I have a few issues of that mag. It's just too bad you can't get some of these cars in North America. I saw a vid of a stock escort cossie somke an STI

not a stock Cossie or not a STi, a Cosworth has 227hp 220tq STi has 300hp 300tq, but a WRX is more on par with 227hp and 217tq
