1) I plan on getting the FD upper intake manifold by late December, and am wondering exactly what supporting mods I might need, and where I can find a complete kit to do this swap (I know FEED makes a kit, but I cannot find it anywhere)
2) Right now, I have a 62-1 Turbo, and I have a mufflershop crush bent downpipe. How much of an improvement should I see by going with a mandrel bent DP.

From what I've heard and seen on some flow charts a crush bent pipe isn't the most efficient way to go and a mandrel pipe should flow better keeping the exhaust flowing without creating a large amount of turbulence. I'm not sure if it would matter as much in a dp but even in the y pipe and single pipes a crush bend will cause some unwanted turbulence.
If I can find any of the flow charts I'll post them here and let you make your own decision.

yeah, I was just wondering if it is worth $300 worth to have the DP made

Well I would go with the mandrel pipe but that's just me, and I can't find the flow charts yet. I think I saw one at how things work.com.
Some people stick with the crush bends but others swear by mandrels so in the end it's all in how much you're willing to pay.
IMO it would be worth the few extra dollars in the end to get a better flowing exhaust all around.

I never really thought about that. The reason I was going to get the FD upper, is because it is an easy swap, with the feed kit. What all would I need to do this?
