Error Codes Help

Does some one know how to get the error codes from a Tiburon 98? the check engine light came on on the way to work this morning. :confused:

the engine is hesitating a little. the last time this happened was two years ago and it ended up being that i needed new spark plug cables.

go to an autozone or other car store. they should do it for free.

come back and post the code, and i can help you more.

after work i have a 20 minute drive. once i got off the hiway the car got worse, i had to stop by autozone to drop off a loner tool and i had them check the car for the codes. the codes came back as cylinder 1 and 3 misfiring. they told me it could be many things from the spark plugs, cables or the ignition coil.

i will start to check it on friday, i will start with checking if spark is going to the cables by grounding them with a screw driver. hopefully the problem will be there in the coil.

in the morning the car was misfiring but not too bad, now its really bad. it feels like its running with only two pistons working.

if you have other suggestions, please let me know.

i would get some new plugs and wires. ngk's are good, and cheap. the wires are blue.
