i'm kinda new to this site, but i was reading alot of messages you wrote on and i was just wondering if u might be able to help me out. i have a 95' blazer (4.3L W) and it just won't start. if taken the upper intake of and cleaned it pretty good cause there was washing on the passinger side. i'm lost here cause i have replaced (CPI,fuel pump and sending unit, fuel filter, ignition control module, spark plugs, wires, rotor and dis cap about 7-10 months ago. i have no idea what else i can do. i also put it on a scan tool and got a P1351 code. it says it has something to do with the ignition control system or misfire. but i am getting good spark out of the #1 plug. Please help of you can.

have you tested spark on all the plugs...check cap and rotor for any signs of breakdown..On the other end is fuel reaching the engine...

fuel is getting to the engine, but not sure if it's getting to the injecters.

Bad news is that if you have washing on the passenger side, that new CPI unit you installed 7 -10 months ago has a bad regulator.

i thought that much, i have a new one coming to me. but i just hope thats it.

Should be it.

Make sure you also change the fuel filter.

So you are saying that the passenger side is washed again? I thought by what you said that it was washed causing you to change the injector 7 months ago.

i did change it 7-10 months ago, but it's washed again. i just hope thats the problem. i also read something about finding the pink 12v wire that runs to the igintion switch and moving it while trying to start the car? what's that all about? and i just changed the fuel filter last thursday. cause the blazer started to putt and go, so i did that, put a new battery in and tryed to fire it up, it took some fighting for awhile but she started so i let her run for a bit, turned her off and she has not started since.

That will be the problem if it is doing it again and the part will be under warranty so you can get your money back for it.

Don't start playing around with other things. Fix the known and move along from there.

i'm trying not to, all that other stuff i've done was before removing the upper intake and seeing it washed again. but if thats not it what do u think it coule be? do u know anything about the trouble code P1351?

What about the nut kit? Were they broken?

Was the driver's side washed?

nut kit is fine, driver side dirty, just put a new CPI in today.

Lemme get this straight, you can start it up with starting fluid but then it will run until you turn it off and then it won't start again?

yup, now u know why i'm lost on this one. still getting trouble code P1351, i checked the dis cap & rotor and they are good. can't figure this one out????

I would check for a weak battery.

If the battery is weak, the pump will not get enough voltage to pump the 56-60psi needed for the injector.

BTW, stop starting it with starting fluid. Very bad for it.

Get the battery load tested. How many volts it is putting out etc....

brand new battery, tested just sitting putting out 11.8v, so the battery is good. starting fulid is bad i know, i just had to try it just to see. but even if the pump is not pushing enough fuel PSI, why would it run with starting fulid and keep running?

Sorry, but 11.8volts is not good at all.

Did you even charge the battery?

A fully chanrged battery should read between 12.8-13.4 volts without the truck running.

Charge your battery.

charging right now, but could there be anything else that would help?

You fuel pressure sounds low and most likely is due to the low voltage situation. You asked why it would start and run on ether but would not restart. This is because there is enough pressure when you get it fired up on the ether to maintain a semblance of running but there is not enough to start.

BlazerLT is correct in stating to charge that battery. When you are cranking I would bet you are way below 10V, maybe even down to 8V. Your pump will not put out enough to start.

Charge the battery. OR, try jumping from a good battery. That should solve the question. If it starts, you know you need to charge it.

ok here it go's, charged the battery and it read 12.8v still no start. but i got a fuel pressure tester and it's only hitting about 44-45 PSI, (not good) i know it needs to be around 58-65 or something like that right? so i got a new pump. will be instailling it soon (let's hope that's the prob). thank you for all the help guy's!!! if it's not the problem i'll be asking more ?'s

I would still have the battery load tested.

If the pump is new, the battery might just have a burnt cell in it.

Make sure you get the right pump, it should be rated for 55PSI minimum.

putting the new pump in today. will let u guys know if it works.

What no one has seemed to notice is fuel pressure. Test pressure at the shrader valve on the back of the intake. should be running 56-60 at start and 61-64 at idle. Chances are if the CPI ius replaced and nut kit is fine, then there is either a weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter involved.

read up a coulpe threads , we have talked about that, and that the problem. weak fuel pump
