need a satellite capable head unit

I'm desperate to get XM or Sirius into my 2001 X5 without ruining the look of the dash, without modulation, and while still being able to control the XM function through the steering wheel.

I know I could put a 2003 or newer head unit in with some modifications to the wiring harness, but I can't find one. The dealer will sell me one for $1000, but I'm not quite that desperate....yet.

Anyone know where I can find what I'm looking for or have a better suggestion? I've come up empty on ebay.
