I have a 96 civic DX and want to do a mini me conversion with a D16Y8 head. However I want to build the motor, especially the head. I am planning on sending the head to the shop(multi angle valve job, wet-tank, shaved, and port & polished) to be built with theese parts: Skunk2 valves, Skunk2 dual valve springs, Skunk2 titanium retainers, Ferrea locators, Ferrea seals, Manley locks, a Crower stage 1 street cam, and a Skunk2 cam gear. Is this a good way to increase horsepower and make a strong head if I were to turbocharge? Does anyone have any ideas on how to make it better?
Also, I will be upgrading the fuel system: I want to use 1 of the 2 intake manifolds, the D16Y8 manifold (I heard it was considered the D-series type R manifold, is that true?) or a Skunk2 manifold (Both will be Port and Polished), Venom hi flow fuel rail, Venom fuel pressure regulator, Venom T-body, Aerospeed hi pressure fuel filter, Walpro 255 lph fuel pump, Precision Turbo 310cc injectors, Full stainless steel braided hi pressure fuel lines from tank to engine compartment. If you have any suggestions please let me now.

why are you wasting all that money on the head just to get a stage 1 cam ? get at least the stage 2.
but doing all that will make the head stronger in a sense that the valve springs and such will handle lots of boost.
yes the y8 intake mani is considered the type r of the d series intake manis but i would go with a skunk2 intake mani.
you wont need new fuel lines, they are good for 400whp unless you plan to make mroe then that.
also do you plan on going na or turbo ? because with that much flow it is a good idea to increase your compression or turbo it to get max power.

right now I plan to stay NA until I can get the car, motor, and everything else the way I want, then I am going to turbocharge with a T3/T4. Dont know what type but it will be a custom kit not just a buy and bolt on.

I do think I am going to put nicer looking fuel lines at least where you can see them in the compartment for show purpose, but they will have to be performance lines though.

there is absolutely no point in upgrading your fuel rail fyi. the head setup is looking really nice. you dont really need a strong head when going FI. more importantly is a stronger block (pistons, rods, cylinder walls). and for intake manifold, see if you cant get an edelbrock performer X one, very good manifold. also do you plan on controlling that extra fuel in any way? larger injectors+fuel pump=way too much fuel. look into an AFC or converting to obd1 and using uberdata/hondata
