when hooking up a new system, where does the REM wire going from the back of the Amplifier to the cd player go? also, i am having problems with the memory of the cd player, so if anyone knows the wires to hook together for that...thanks.

That is possibly a power wire for a disk changer

If you need a wire to switch the amp on, then it's probably a blue one off of the back of your head unit.

The REM wire goes to the Power antenna wire comming off the back of the stereo I believe. This is the Remote wire right?

the remote wire is designed to turn a amp on when the head unit it turned on.............if a unit has a power ant. hook up ( raises and lowers power ant. when radio is off or on ) it will be labled so.

Define "hi to low". If you mean volume, it could be a loose wire. If the RCA's are loose or crimped, they can play hell with the speakers. Check the outputs on the back of the head unit to see if anything is loose or crimped up against something else under the dash. Also, are you sure your amp isn't overheating? When my amp is cold, it sounds great, the longer the subs are hitting, the quieter it gets until the amps safety system turns it off.

k, i'll check out the wires again, i must have missed something. but yea, i do mean the volume. i dont think its the amp overheating just because i live in alaska so my amp is usually pretty cold most of the time. and it wont keep getting quieter and quieter it will vary most of the time.

could it be the fact that, the wire going from my amp to my battery is a really small gauge?

How small a gauge is it? How many watts is the amp rated at?

WAY TO SMALL, DON'T BURN YOUR CAR UP!!
You should have at least a 6 gauge wire and a fuse in line with the battery. You will over heat that wire and catch it on fire.
