As I read the specs of the new Z I'm wondering if there is any other car that can offer a better performance/price ratio.
In the same category, you can forget about the Audi TT, the Mercedes SLK, the Porsche Boxter and the BMW Z3. The only car that comes close is the Honda S2000 that is yet more expensive, has less standard equipment and doesn't has enought place in the trunk to carry enough beer to get drunk.
The Subaru WRX is potentially a contender, but forget about the lady's when you drive that car.
Does anyone knows of a car that will offer more thrills than the Z for the price??

If you are just talking Price/Performace, the WRX wins hands down.
Now throw in looks and I'd say the Z would win. The S2000 comes close but is lacking in amny areas. Of course the S2000 is a better looker than the Z IMHO.
Since I'm single again, I'll probably be trading in the WRX on a new Z...
FYI - I almost bought an S2000 over the WRX, but my since I ahd a G/F I went with the WRX...

Dude, the S2000 is NOT more expensive than the Z (well, most of the Z's anyway). The Touring Z's MSRP is $34K+, and the S2000's MSRP is $33K. I've ordered a 6-sp Touring with side-airbags, bodykit, and DVD Nav, and the total comes to almost $38K before taxes, $41K after everything.
By the way, the S2000 is definitely NOT better-looking than the Z, even my gf said that, "...not even close..." she said.

Oh, I think the '03 Cobra is a better performance for the money than the Z. It'll be around $35K and have 390hp. Better performance, maybe (most likely yes). Better car? HELL NO!!! The Z wins in everything else, from looks to reliability to quality.

By the way, not to exclude the Camaro Z28 either. It's even less expensive than an Integra, yet has awesome performance. Now, almost all domestic sports and GT cars have better performance/price ratio than any import, but they are much lesser cars for sure in departments of styles, quality, reliability, technology, market value, and everything else.

Yeah I dont think I would but the Cobra in the same category as the Z...it's kind of a MONSTER!!! It's better suited against a Z06...
As for what the Z is going to compete against...there's still the RX-8...but it has 4 drs...
Boxster S...but it cost $50K +...so maybe that's out
Honda S2000...hmm...it's a roadster and the Z is a coupe (for now) so maybe that's not fair...
2 seaters that are around $30K and sports cars...I dont see that many in the USA.

Well, he said "...any other car..."
I don't think there is any car that could outweigh the performance/price ratio of a Camaro Z28. Hell, I could get a brand new one for less than $20K at a local dealership. But would I? HELL NOOOOOO!!!!! I wouldn't buy it for half of that price. Just making a point about performance/price ratio.
As for the Z, I don't care if it won't have awesome performance; wonderful performance is good enough for me. I'll love the car anyway.

How did you get the price of the Z up to 41k? The track model with every single option comes out to about 38k according to Nissans web site.

Hum...there's a thing called STATE TAX. Here we have it. Add 9% to that and see what you get. The Touring 6-sp and Track's prices are not much of a difference, very small; add DVD Nav, side airbags, aero kit, floor mats, aluminum kick plate, and destination fee, and you'll have what I have.

I did not take tax into consideration I thought you were talking about MSRP. I thought NJs 6% was high.

Hahaha...We'd kill for 6% here. :D
Well, there are states that do not have sales tax, but their income taxes are higher to compensate for that. Still, we'd love to have lower sales tax here.
