ok guys i have a 95 convertable gt. i was trying to saves some weight cuz she is a hauss. need to put my girl on a diet. i dont have fold down seats so i doubt that the back seats weight that much, what about the motor for the top? can i take that out?{how much weight, is it a pain in the ass} also what will be there if i take out my back seats? what is behind it. i took out my spare/jack, this weekend im gunna take up the sound dampening material under the carpet, just looking for cheap speed

the motor doesn't weigh a significant amount and if you pull it out and hand lift your top you'll only do damage too it. everytime i get in my car i regret not fixing the motor because no matter how careful i was with it it still got bent and a few parts got snapped.

I wouldnt bother with the convertible motor, doesnt have much weight anyway besides nothing is better that dropping the top at the push of a button.
However if you really want to drop some weight. 94 and 95 convertibles have a 25 pound log bolted to the front of the front bumper on the passenger side. The best way to find it is to look strait up under the fender ( you may need to remove the plastic shroud). The weight is just forward the front tire its attached to the front bumper and the frame. I did a little research on it and this was fords way of minimizing vibration at high speed. I removed mine, and other than dropping 25lbs I can't tell the difference.
