Pinstripe Story

OK, so my car has pinstripes - it was my decision when I bought it, and I am actually quite happy with them. Hopefully, I can get someone to take a picture at the next autocross.
That isn't the story, though. My dealership was pretty cool and gave me the option (no cost). They told me that they were going to send their guy out to my place of work and do it. I waited a few days, he called, but then no pinstripes.
I called my salesman, and he was quite surprised, as the detailer had a well-deserved reputation for reliability. He was sure that the detailer would have called if something had gone awry.
A few more days passed, and I got a call back from my salesman. He asked. "Are you sure you don't have pinstripes?" I leaned out the window and checked one last time and said "Yes, I'm sure." He answereed "Well, someone does!"
I asked around to see if anyone had noticed a set of pinstripes appearing suddenly on their civic. This elicited a lot of giggles but no answers from anyone else in the office building. I figure someone was visiting the dentist downstairs and when they finally noticed, figured they were always there.

it hurts to laugh when you're hungover. i drove an oldsmobile from 5am until 8am today. we left the damn girls house at 5. christ i am shot i gotta stop now.. but i can't /... ok.. sorry guys, so wait... you didn't get pinstripes? they put it on someone elses car?

The detailer came back out a few days later and did the right car (i.e. mine). The dealership was pretty scared that they had done this to someone's car that may or may not like it and they didn't know who to call to apologize.

Just tell me you didnt pay $100 for the pinstripes....a dealer over here tried to sell me a car with the stripes already on it, upping the price 100 bucks! Thats some expensive tape. :rolleyes:

Now that's some new shit. In some places you come out to find your car vandalized. Over there, you come out to find your car modded.
