I was just wondering if the R32 & R34 were legal here in the U.S. More importantly in California. I've hearing from people that it is illegal. If so why?

They aren't illegal. That is why you see so many of them. You can get them at any Nissan dealer. You just have to order them special.

I just like to point out, nice mistake how you said you order them "special". Motorex doesn't legalize them. They buy them from Japanese Auto sales and house auctions, and sell them for nearly double in the states. Insurance, and legalization, is all up to you. Only a couple thousand dollars should get you to pass emissions, which is the only reason why they aren't legal. Remember, no matter what you hear, it's only emissions.

Until recently, they DID legalize them. Any car you bought from Motorex came complete with a package from the DOT stating the car was legal and registration. Although the work was mostly farmed out to G&K, it was included in the price paid to Motorex.

Yea it also has to do alot with saftey regs cuz the U.S thinks that seat belting everything and airbaging everything will save you from anyting!

Cat converters

Obviously you don't read the highlighted IMPORTANT posts or you would of seen these. Some of the things that need to be changed to make a Skyline meet DOT specs. Sounds like some custom fabricating and alot of work to me.

What sucks about importing is the fact that you do all the testing by yourself. So in reality you would have to import to of the same cars. One to drive and one to do all the testing on. Cuz after all the testin' done that one car would be completely totaled.

.
1. you can't do it all yourself
2. It takes several cars not just one to crash test
3. how old are you? 14?
